Had an exhausting conversation with William's eldest daughter. To her credit, she is intelligent and very loyal; traits I admire very much. The conversation was mostly very respectful on both sides. . But the arguments were completely circular and could not possibly change anything. And the amount of enabling is STAGGERING!!!!! No wonder he has never gotten better or received extensive help.
She did admit that he's an ass and does stupid stuff...A LOT, but her main concern was financial but not really for him, just the way it would affect her mom and siblings. She seems to think that if he gets hauled into court, she and her siblings will lose their ability to attend college. Interesting.
1. Absolutely NOT my problem
2. If he can afford to have 3 kids in college, he could afford to pay the bill he promised to pay.
She absolutely did not understand my stance on any of this. It's about the money, sure, but it's also about the fact that he MADE A FREAKING PROMISE!! And then turned around and disregarded it completely. Where I'm from, if you promise someone something, you honor that promise. If you can't you let them, know. You DON'T leave them hanging until the last possible moment and then just ghost. That's not how adults handle things.
the other things she fails to understand is that now I'm left with a financial judgement against me that will be on my credit score for 5-7 years! credit I am trying desperately and actively to fix. SO FRUSTRATING!!!
So this isn't JUST about the money. It's about holding someone at their word and also exposing someone for their true colors. It's also about the gut wrenching stress that I've been under throughout this whole ordeal, just dealing with HIM, his never ending lies, and his complete disregard for doing the right thing.
I will see this through.
